Q: What are the browser requirements for running your Delano system?
Browser Requirements for Accessing Delano
You access the Delano system through a Web browser. You need one of the following browsers to access Delano:
On a Windows PC, use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later.
Note: At this time please do not use Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher as we have encountered compatibility issues.
On a Macintosh, use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 or later. Apple Safari for Mac OS X/Panther and later is also supported and strongly recommended.
If you have an older version of the software installed, be sure to update your browser before you log on to Delano.

NOTE: Your browser must be configured to accept Cookies and to allow Javascript scripts to run.
Refer to the Web browser Help menu if you need instructions on how to enable Cookies and Javascript.

Q: My internet connection is behind a company firewall and I do not have permission to install software on my computer. What do I need to have done for Delano to work?

In order for our Delano system to work correctly on your machines there are a few plug-ins that must be installed.  Normally the system will automatically prompt the browser to download what it needs but sometimes this function can be blocked by things such as firewalls, active directories, and user permissions. In cases like this, the plug-ins must be installed manually.
Here is what will be needed:

  • The latest version of the Java Runtime Environment must be installed and can be obtained by visiting http://www.java.com.
  • The Adobe SVG Viewer must be installed and can be obtained by visiting: http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/
  • The domain kopcoinc.com must be added to the trusted sites of each browser. (Specifically Delano.kopcoinc.com)
  • On a Windows based machine, Internet Explorer 6.0 must be used (Please do not use IE 7.0 as it is not compatible).
  • On a Mac based machine, the Safari web browser must be used.
  • Please disable any pop-up blocking software or add the Delano web address as an acceptable site to receive pop-ups from.

Once all of these steps have been completed, the system should load and function properly on your computers.

Q: I am interested in obtaining a credit line with your company to begin printing my publication.  How do I go about doing that? Kopco has a strong history of working with our customers and providing credit lines for well qualified customers.  Several factors go into the consideration for a credit line and include (but are not limited to) business structure, length of time in business, credit score, history with the company, etc.  In order to obtain more information you will need to fill out a confidential credit application.  One can be obtained by visiting the Sales section of our website. At the very bottom of that page there are two links to obtain the application in either Microsoft Word or PDF formats. After it is completed, the application can be either submitted via email or mailed to us.
Q: I am trying to send files to your FTP server, but when I try to connect nothing happens.  It just says it is trying and then times out. There are many factors that go into establishing a connection between an FTP server and a client.  Some of the common issues that cause problems when trying to connect are:
  • Your internet connection might be behind a firewall that is blocking or restricting access of certain types to and from your computer.  More specifically it might be blocking the port that your FTP program uses.  In order to get around this, an exception will have to be made in the firewall settings to allow for access to your machine on this port.  For more information please contact your Internet Service Provider or your Systems Administrator.
  • The type of transfer mode that your FTP program is using might not be compatible with our server.  The main one of these is referred to as "Passive Mode Transfer". Many FTP programs have the ability to change this setting by going into the advanced settings menus of the program.  Once you have located the correct area that contains this setting, try changing it and attempting to reconnect until you get the desired result. For more information please refer to your FTP programs help section or the developer's website.
  • Make sure you are typing the FTP address as follows:
    ftp.kopcoinc.com
Any misspelling of the address can cause connection issues and problems.
  • If it has been awhile since you last used your login to our server please contact us to verify that your account access is still active.  We periodically will deactivate accounts that have been idle for quite some time.  A simple phone call or email will get your login restored.
  • Periodically we have internet service issues at our location.  This can cause our server to be unreachable for a small period of time.  If you have tried the other suggestions on this list and still are unable to connect, please contact us to verify the status of our server.
